Catalytic infrared heating saves
up to 80%
of the energy
& time needed by
convection ovens

infrared ovens.

Powder Gel / Ramp-up Ovens

Powder Ramp-up Ovens are a highly cost-effective way to increase
production, or production speed, often without taking up additional
floor space. They are also an excellent answer for companies who
are changing from liquid to powder coatings and need to maintain
the integrity of their powder distribution – something difficult at
best around a source of circulating air.

Ramp-up ovens allow convection ovens do their work more quickly,
because part surface and coating are both at optimum temperature
when they enter the convection stage. Because this is true, ramp-up
ovens deliver an important advantage that is directly related to the
quality of the cured finish: How?

Parts that enter a convection oven “cold” heat gradually, moving
through 100°, 200°, and 300° to the set cure temperature of 400°
or 425°, depending on the coating formula. Paints begin to “flow” at
around 300°, so the chance of a cosmetic defect will always be higher.
Ramp-up ovens heat the powder, and the substrate, very quickly –
there’s no gradual climb in temperature – and no time for the finish
to get into trouble.

Catalytic sales engineers and tech support specialists can show you
how a ramp up oven can save you time, and energy costs, while
improving quality through greater film consistency and fewer
finish defects.
